Roni Fatima

Roni Fatima

Age: 31
Gender: male
Birthplace: unknown (Nimrod?)
Occupation: Commander

Roni was born (with Rene) in 9469, in an unknown area. There isn't much information on his early years - his first major appearance is in Sophia's army during the Solaris War in Episode Four. He and his brother were members of the Kahal (Sophia's group of bodyguards and diciples), and Roni led an elite gear unit in charge of keeping the peace and guarding the Great Mother. After Sophia's death he led the remnants of the army in a fight against Grahf and Solaris during the Diablos War, and later went on to found the country of Aveh. He aligned with an Anima Relic in this era, but when the conflict died down he locked his Omnigear away in Fort Jasper, where it remained until the events of Episode Five.

Rene Fatima

Rene Fatima

Age: 31
Gender: male
Birthplace: unknown (Nimrod?)
Occupation: Sub-commander

Rene was born (with Roni) in 9469, in an unknown area. Like his brother, Rene's story doesn't truly begin until the Solaris War - he fought under Roni's command and joined the Kahal. During the war he married Nisan's head of government - Jikurinde - and they had a daughter named Izolde, who eventually took Sophia's place as the Great Mother of Nisan. (It can be speculated that this is what eventually started the tradition of the Nisan Mother and the King of Aveh marrying. Rene is, technically, part of the Aveh royal family by relation to Roni, and... etc.) After Sophia's death, he fought at his brother's side until his death one year later in the last battles of the Diablos War.

Franz

Franz

(No stats available.)

Franz doesn't have much of a background. He works as the sound officer on the Yggdrasil, but his moments of glory can be summed up in the attacks on the ship during the earlier parts of the game. If you talk to him later, you can sample different sounds, but otherwise his presence is fairly insignificant. And he's not a penguin - the designers wanted to emphasize that in the Perfect Works. ^.^ I guess he's a dolphin (makes sense, since he operates the sonar). He'd better watch out for fish nets when he visits the Thames.

Sir Lawrence Maison

Sir Lawrence Maison

Age: 68
Gender: male
Height: 178cm
Weight: 69kg
Measurements: 82x70cm
Shoe Size: 15cm
Clothing Size: Medium
Cologne: Classic (by Banana Republic)
Birthplace: Aveh
Occupation: Aveh Knight, Guardian, Tutor

Earlier in his life, Maison was a knight in the service of Bart's father, King Edbart IV. He seems to have led a normal (knightly) life until Shakhan's coup, when he spirited Bart and Margie away before they were executed. He has served as guardian and tutor to Bart for the last decade or so, and remains dedicated to protecting him and furthering his cause to regain the throne.

He has a remarkable number of skills, and he hints that he led quite an "exciting" life in the old days. Hard to believe, when he looks so much like an old British butler. ^.^

Shakhan

Shakhan

(No stats available.)

This man is slime. (Well, I think so.) He was formerly a bishop at the Ethos, and rumor has it he was ex-communicated years ago for some unknown transgression. (It could be that he was in command before Stein's arrival.) He went on to Aveh, where he staged a coup and slaughtered Edbart IV and his family, leaving only the young prince and his cousin alive. Gebler's presence is his doing - he is in charge of the base of operations in Aveh, and he still makes regular reports to the Ethos.

When Margie returnsto Aveh to help her people, Shakhan imprisons her in the Palace, with the intent of extracting the wherabouts of the Fatima Jasper from her. He's determined to get his hands on the "great treasure", though he has no idea what it is. Unfortunately for him, he develops a bad habit of failing to achieve his goals, and his defeat is a humiliating one. (Which just proves that there /is/ a god in Xenogears.)
