Knights Templar
Krelian was a holy knight/general/leader type in the game, and he used that spirit to defend Nisan from Solaris, both as a general and on the field of battle. As Nisan's intentions were to protect the people and keep them free, his cause was very similar to the order of Knights Templar (waaaaay back, in the Middle Ages).
Though I don't have the information in front of me, I know that Krelian's weapon of choice is a sword; with that knowledge, and the similarity of Nisan's goals to that ancient Order, I made a connection. It's by no means a sure thing, but I imagine even his sword must resemble the old weapons of this Order -- the cross displayed on the pommels is almost exactly like the Nisan cross in design.
