Old Ghosts

Page by page,
Chapter by chapter,
I leafed through the book
That was my mind.

So many faces,
Whispering voices.
Names I can't remember,
A life that I had left behind.

I walked the thin line,
Between the truth and a lie.
Revealing only pieces,
When so much I hide.

The past remains,
While the present unfolds.
An unknown future,
In my hands I hold.

Old ghosts linger,
 In the shadows.
 Brittle ties that binds
 Between two lives.
