Bishop Stone (Isaac Stein)

Age: ~34 Gender: male Birthplace: Etrenank, Solaris Occupation: Bishop, Gebler Commander Gear: Alkanshel Stein makes a good villain, in my opinion. He is what Krelian could have been, with a little less elegance and determination. His story starts in Solaris, where he was a contemporary of Jesiah. They attended Jugend together, and possessed roughly equal ability, but Stein lost promotions to Jesse again and again. He had his eye on Raquel, but she chose Jesiah over him. He was denied entrance into the Elements. When it came time to choose a new commander for Gebler, Stein lost to Jesiah yet again. When Jesiah left Solaris, I think he was passed over again for Ramsus. Understandably, he's a little bitter. He chose to exact his revenge on Jesiah through his family. He arranged for the Black house to be attacked by Wels and had Raquel killed, but he swept in to save Billy and Primera at the last minute. As "Bishop Stone" he took Billy under his wing and manipulated him into hating his father, and then urged Billy to work for him as an Etone. Most, if not all of the problems between Billy and Jesse probably stem from Stein's actions. There's an assumption among fans that Stein abused children in his office as Bishop. I haven't seen anything to confirm this, but I wouldn't put it past him. (Look at his portrait. Isn't that scary?) But there's no indication that he did anything like that to Billy. In fact, Billy was shocked to hear of the things going on in the church, and that says to me that he didn't experience anything like that at Stein's hands. Eventually, he gets what he deserves, and that's what is important. ^.^
