It can be assumed that he led a normal life; the only insight into his personality we receive is that he has a soft spot for Third Class citizens. He's a strict father, but he lives up to the expectations of a parent. When Elly and Fei are trying to escape Solaris, he sacrifices himself to gain them passage.

Medena Van Houten

Gender: female Birthplace: Etrenank Occupation: housewife Medena doesn't have a significant career - she's a housewife and a mother, and she seems content to let it remain at that. Her life was probably carefree and normal until her death in Lower Etrenank, where she sacrificed her life to save Elly from Hammer.

Elly's Strike Team

Gender: male (all) Occupation: Gebler strike forces Birthplace: unknown (all were lower class Solarian citizens) Frankly, these guys don't rate their own profiles. They found their ways into the military seperately, but it seems clear that most of them weren't born in Solaris - or if they were, it was not to the First Class ranking. Vance is Drive-crazy and Helmholz is the braniac of the group; Boyer isn't as gung-ho as the rest of them, and the others are rather generic. They all manage to survive, though; at first they don't respect Elly very much, but as the story progresses they come to care about her well-being.

Vanderkaum

Gender: male Birthplace: Etrenank Occupation: general (navy) This is a man who likes guns. ^.^ His great weakness is that he is opposed to change - he does not to well in modern battles that require any kind of gear strategy. His men consider him incompetant, and this flaw leads to his downfall. After the disaster at the border with Kislev, he accepts Grahf's help and finds his end at Id's hands.
