"Miang and Krelian" , Fri 11 Aug 09:48
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how Krelian got into Solaris and made it so high up. Also how did he team up with Miang and get her back in the Gazel Ministry's good books and into Solaris.
Presumably Krelian's rise to power took place sometime during the Diablos invasion when the Ministry got killed and Krelian saved them by transferring them into electronic data. As for how Miang got into Solaris now thats a good question.
Yes totally useless ha ha chase after it
boy a love thats unattainable no matter
how hard you pursue it.

The link above is a complete translation of Krelian's profile from the Perfect Works (done by a wonderful Japanese friend of mine!). It did not, unfortunately, say specifically when Krel met Miang, or what the nature of their relationship is, exactly... but it did insinuate that they had known each other for quite some time before he went up to Solaris personally. (It actually said that - that he "might" have been involved before he went to Solaris...)
He wandered for a long time, after he modified Zephyr and her Ministers to lengthen their lives. He was 41 when he went up to Solaris to save the Ministry's collective ass, so that's... six years in which he and Miang could have come to the understanding they have in the game.
I'm thinking it took a lot of convincing, on her part, to get him to go up there. He must have known the entire story by that time... it's quite feasible that he also forged his alliance with Lacan/Grahf at this time, since they all work together in the game... but his profile didn't say anything about that either.

My guess is that he blackmailed the Gazel Ministry by threatening to erase them if he didn't get control of the country.
"Have you ever been in love?" Kissoon replied.
"Yes I think so."
"Then you've been to Quiddity twice. Once the first night you slept out of the womb. The second occassion the night you lay beside the woman you loved. Or man was it?" He laughed. "Whichever."
"Quiddity is the sea."
"Quiddity is the sea. And in it are islands called the Ephemeris."
"I want to go there." Jaff breathed.
"You will. One more time you will."
"The last night of your life. That's all we ever get."

(Yes, folks, it's that Annoying Person Again but Who The Heck Is She? Well, if you want to know the whole, unsavory story, I was born in Peru to poor llama farmers and served as a guerilla terrorist in the Iran-Iraq War before being kidnapped by rogue American journalists and subjected to secret government experiments on the long-term effects of viewing home shopping channels... oh, never mind.)
Well, actually, I've milled over this theory with a few friends and one of the conclusions we came to was that Solaris had no choice but to accord Krelian a high position in their goverment, because not only did he save most of the Gazel Ministry, his technology was also probably single-handedly keeping Cain alive by that point. Despite the fact that he was originally a Lamb, they had to admit that they /needed/ him; they had no scientists to equal him in Solaris. We've also theorized that his change in appearance was actually deliberate, not a side effect of aging or his nanomachines-- he altered his coloration to look more Gazel, because while he may already have been accepted (however grudgingly) into the Solarian government, the Solarian citizens probably weren't about to accept anyone who didn't look like one of their own in a position of leadership. As for how he got /into/ Solaris in the first place, I'd guess it was something along the lines of offering them the technology to resurrect the Ministry after they were destroyed by Lacan-- they were so desperate at that point, they would even have stooped to acceptintg the help of a Lamb. He probably made contact with them through Shevat or its government.
As for Miang... I read the translated profile that Myaru had done for him, and I actually don't remember if it said when they first met. I'd guess the initial contact was fairly early, and they grew closer together as they learned they had a certain commonality of purpose. Miang, of course, would have been in Solaris from the beginning, since the Ministry and Cain /are/ her children-- their "trade" of her to Shevat was almost certainly nothing but a ruse designed to get Sophia into their hands, since they knew that Miang would return to them somehow, whether she was executed or not.
