- Translation errors and information that doesn't exist. Explain? I used to note on the history and character indexes that when I refer to information that 'doesn't exist,' I'm talking about the holes in my notes. GA was renovated and rewritten two years after I made the original notes, so I was essentially working with old information. Bad idea, but I thought getting the project over with would be best. I certainly felt better about it. As for translation errors: yes, they're there. Too bad, eh? It's the same old story. They'll be fixed when I have time. My reading of the PW is still imperfect. Ha ha. ^^ - Can I take information from this site? I ask that if you use anything from this site - information or otherwise - you give proper credit to Guardian Angels, and the author of the document itself (usually me, Amber Michelle, but sometimes others). If you're looking for information to put on your own Xenogears website I suggest that you refrain from using ours and come up with your own. Sites are always better if they come from the person creating them. - Can I use your images/collages? Please do not use any of the images or collages made for this site, old or new. They are meant only for GA, so I'd appreciate it if you'd leave them here. - Can I use the shrine diaries? The shrine diaries are written specifically for Guardian Angels and their respective shrines, so the only other sites they should appear on in any form are the home pages of the authors themselves. - Can I use a fan work from your site? Please contact the author or artist of the fan work in question. I don't have the right to give that permission for anyone's work but my own. - How did you get Japanese text on your pictures? Since I don't have a Japanese text program on my computer (which would be the best way to do it), I scanned charts of letters from my books and dictionaries and edited them in Photoshop. - That is NOT how you spell this character's name! Too bad. That's how I spell it, so that's the way it is on the site. If I decide to say "Shitan" instead of "Citan", that's the way it is going to be at Guardian Angels. Since I'm the one writing all of the material, I'm going to indulge in my wish to use the romanizations that I prefer. If that's too much for you, sorry. Bye! Make your own site! - Why don't you use more images? I hate long loading times. I like simple, straight-forward designs. Hence, Guardian Angels has just enough images (in my opinion) to make it functional and slightly nice. If you want a webpage plastered with every image known to man, go somewhere else or make your own. - Can you scan more pics? Unfortunately, I do not own a functional scanner, and my Perfect Works is starting to fall apart and have ink rub off on the edges. More images isn't a feasible plan right now, but if I ever get a new scanner and a new book, I'll see what I can do. - Can I use your design for my webpage? I'd really rather you didn't. Like the collages and banners, the design of this site was created FOR this site. If you need help designing your own site, there are plenty of tutorials and suggestions available online, and there are always people who are willing to help for a price. Some might even do it for free. Unfortunately, we are not those people. Sorry. - Can I archive Guardian Angels? That isn't necessary yet, since GA is both alive and well, right here at Lea Monde. The offer is nice, but the site is fine where it is. - Will you exchange links with me? If your site is Xenogears themed and you've already linked to us, contact me and I'll see what I can do. Xenosaga sites are also welcomed. - Can I be one of your affiliates? I'm not accepting requests for affiliation. Chances are, if I decide I want another affiliate, I'll contact the sites I think are suitable for affiliation - which will likely be sites run by people I know well. If I'm not asking, it's safe to assume that I don't want to expand my affiliate list. - How do I link to the shrines? Just link to the front page of the shrine you like (example: http://guardian.leamonde.net/shrines/elly/ - for the Elly shrine). Each shrine has a banner available in its link section. - What the hell does "PW" stand for? "PW" is an abbreviation for "Perfect Works," the Xenogears sourcebook. It gets tiring typing the entire name out all the time, and this shortcut developed during our many discussions on the message boards. - Some of your pages are still the same as the old ones! Yes, that's right. It was my opinion that only some things needed to be changed. If you disagree, write an essay about it. But I don't promise to make the change. ^.^ - Do you accept site gifts? Definitely. ^.^ If you want to send something nice, I'm not objecting! - "You Shall Be As Gods." Yes, I know this is a quote from the Bible - Genesis, to be specific. "I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." That's also a quote from the Bible. You're not surprised, are you? Please don't email me about these. I already know. As a matter of fact, I think it's so basic that it doesn't need a place on my site - unfortunately, there's just no room for a 'Quotes' section, especially since there are so few of significance in Xenogears (at least to my memory). There is a topic about this on the message board, if you want to comment.
- Can I use your scans on my site? As long as you're willing to give credit to Guardian Angels - and a link would be nice too - by the pictures, feel free to use some of our images. Please don't take all of them though - if that's what you want, you can get much better quality images by buying your own copy of the Perfect Works and scanning them in yourself. - Why do you have "Scanned by Guardian Angels" on some of your pics? That was originally placed there so other sites wouldn't rip off my scans. Now that the PW is more common, that's usually not a problem. If you want unmarked scans, buy your own book - that's the best way anyway. - Can I use this fan art/wallpaper on my site? Ask the artists that made the pieces you want to use. I can't give permission for them. Their names and a way to contact them should be right there next to their work.
- Where are all of your Perfect Works translations? My translations are everywhere. I consider it more efficient to integrate PW information with the game information, instead of making two different sections. This site is all about story and references and analysis, so it would be ridiculous to separate my translations from the rest of the site. - Have you translated the whole thing? No, I have not translated the entire book, nor will I. I work on the sections that benefit this site and my own work, and I save the rest for later. Trying to translate every last line of text would be pointless, if I don't need it. - Where can I get a copy of the Perfect Works book (etc.)? See the Merchandise page for more information on where to get the Pefect Works and other Xenogears merchandise. - Can you make the whole book available for download? Absolutely not. Making the book available for download would be even more illegal than the site itself is, and I don't want to cross that line. If you're looking for someone more adventurous, try the Ethos Sanctuary. - Will you sell me your copy of the Perfect Works? I'll see you in hell first. Besides, mine is beat up and falling apart. You wouldn't want it.
- When are you going to update? I update when I have time and material to update with. There isn't any set schedule, and I wouldn't want to make a promise to update on a certain day and then break it. It also helps to actually have an interest in working on the site, so if I'm not in the mood, there won't be an update. Since the Xenogears craze is dying down, I don't think slow updates should be a problem. - Why haven't my emails been answered? There are two possible reasons for this. First, you may have sent it to the wrong address. Email regarding the site, your submissions, and so on should only go to the addresses I have listed in this faq or the submission faq. If you send your questions to my personal account, they will be ignored. Likewise for my assistants. They do not have full access to GA's files or accounts. The second reason is more common - and that's simply that I don't have the time to answer you. I'm flooded with email every day, for more than just Guardian Angels. Like I've said before, if you want a fast response, join the message board. I put the link on the update page for a reason. If you want to comment on a story or piece of artwork that one of the staff has done, please use the address listed on our author/artist pages. Thank you. - Where can I get Xenogears merchandise? See the Merchandise page. - Are you going to make a Xenosaga site? Any site I make for it will probably involve a lot of fiction, some fan art, and other creative stuff. If you want a general information and media site, it already exists, and there's no reason for me to do exactly the same thing. If you're interested and suicidal, I have uploaded a prototype for the DeM list. Feel free to look, but don't expect anything grand - it isn't finished yet. - What's the big deal with "Shadows Falling"? Long story. ^^ SF was the first reason for creating this site in 1998; it was also my (Amber Michelle) first fanfic, and the universe in which Calis's fanfic "A Piece of Me" is set. Apparently it was one of the first Xeno fanfics online (wouldn't that be cool), but I can't say for certain myself. - Your information is wrong! Oh well. Either prove to me that you're right and I'm wrong, or go find someone who cares. - Your site sucks, I can't find anything! If you can't find something there, either contact me or consider the possibility that GA doesn't have what you're looking for. - I found broken links! If you can provide me with the exact page (down to the very paragraph) and the URL the link is supposed to lead to, I'll fix it as soon as possible. - Why don't you mark spoilers anymore? Xenogears is almost four years old now. Most of the people visiting this site are either old fans or people who have already finished the game and are looking for explanations and deeper information. If you haven't finished the game, you should know better than to click on a link that has anything remotely to do with the storyline. Wait until you finish the game, and come back then. - How long has this site been up? Guardian Angels started out on Tripod in 1998 as a page for Shadows Falling, and then turned into a general information/fan site somewhere between January-March of 1999. The official opening was on March 24, 1999. I guess that would make the site five years old, going on six. - How do I pass the second Anima Dungeon (etc.)? I'm sorry, but you won't get any game strategy out of me. ^^ This site is about the story of Xenogears, not its game mechanics. If you're really stuck, GameFAQs or Zenosaga.com will be of more help to you than I will. I don't bother to actually remember how I got through this or that insignificant dungeon when there are so many more interesting topics to think about.
- Do you guys have personal pages? Yes, we all have personal webpages. They're listed under 'Staff Links' on the links page. - Are you Japanese? No, not even close. ^.^ I study Japan, but I am not a native of the country. Sorry. - Can you give me drawing/writing tips? Sorry, but no. I don't have the time, and neither do my assistants. If you're looking for critiques and other constructive services, I suggest The Art Corner for fan art, and the RPGFFML for fan fiction. Both places are very helpful. - Will you write a story/draw a picture for me? Well, you'll have to ask each of us individually, but the most common answer will probably be 'no'. We're all incredibly busy with school, work, and life in general, so finding the time for that kind of thing is rare under the best circumstances. (Just look at how long Guardian Angels sits without updates sometimes. ^^) Sorry. So, if you need to contact me after all of this, I can be reached at guardian@leamonde.net.
